// Leading For FSM

So i’ve been in Nashville for a little while now and have been learning a ton but last week i was finally given the opportunity to lead worship for Fellowship’s Student Ministry.  i was so excited about this because i’ve played and done stuff with the worship leaders here but this would be my first “test” to see how i do leading in front of people.  i met with Lance, the youth worship leader, the week before and as we hung out he said that his hand had been acting weird and he had lost all feeling in it the last time he played.  He said that he felt he needed a break and asked if i would want to lead.  Absolutely.  i was up for leading the middle school ministry that Sunday morning.  Lance, set up a band and told me what to expect and how the Mix usually went.  i was nervous at first because what if no one liked the way i led.  The band were middle schoolers that went to the Mix and they were amazing!  i was blown away at how quick they learned and how great of musicians they were.  It went great and i was so thankful for the opportunity to lead.

The next day which was a Monday, Lance, came up and said that i was a great fit for them and wanted to see if i could lead again that Wednesday for the Foundry, their senior high ministry.  The Foundry is their big event that they focus on mainly so i was so encouraged that they liked the way i led but also that they liked me enough to ask me to lead again.  This band was made up of professional players that help out on Sunday mornings so i knew they would be more than prepared for playing.  As we played that night, the kids in the youth group were so cool.  Seeing their hearts in worship was something that you rarely see in student ministry.  They were so sincere and they desired to be there.  After, i was encouraged by the leaders and people who work for FSM.

i had a great experience overall and can’t wait for another opportunity to lead.
